Pollinators are fleeing agricultural land to urban environments. Concerned citizens have rushed to buy flowers to support the populations seeking refuge. In what can only be viewed as the stuff of a dystopian society, we’ve discovered that even plants advertised as wild-life friendly contained chemicals known to harm insects. Shockingly, every store tested contained harmful chemicals.

While this is a huge blow to communities seeking to help out of good-faith, we can’t stop moving in the discouragement. A silver lining is witnessing the beautiful ground-swell movement of citizens organically organizing to urgently provide chemical-free pollen sources. Solid Roots is looking to super-charge the grassroots action already underway.
